The Disney parks are some of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world, a place where families can let their imaginations run wild in a carefully created fantasy world. Staying at a Disney hotel has many advantages, in addition to giving guests a 24/7 Disney experience, and deals can be had at different times throughout the year. - Disney attendance typically dips during the late summer and fall months, after kids go back to school. At this time the parks typically offer discounts on room rates, sometimes up to 25 percent, depending on if the stay is at a value, moderate or deluxe resort, with the biggest savings coming at deluxe resorts. While the dates vary year to year, discounts typically are offered from mid-September through the week before Thanksgiving. The discounts are often bundled with ticket packages, requiring a ticket purchase for every night of stay.
- Guests at Disney World hotels can sign up for the Disney Dining Plan, saving them up to 30 percent on the costs of their meals. The plan is a prepaid system that gives all guests in a vacation party credit for meals for each night of their stay, to be used as guests see fit over the course of the vacation. The standard plan includes one table-service meal, one counter-service meal and one snack per each night of stay and is only open to guests at Disney hotels. The park offers a variety of options at different price levels, with a counter-service-only dining plan and a deluxe dining plan. During certain times of year, when park attendance is particularly low, the dining plan is offered for free, saving families hundreds of dollars over the course of their vacation.
- Guests at Disney hotels can save considerably on their transportation costs by taking advantage of Disney's free Magical Express and other transportation benefits. Magical Express is a service that provides free transportation from and to Orlando International Airport. Prior to arrival, guests share their flight information with Disney, after which they receive special luggage tags to use on their bags. Upon arrival at the airport they board a Disney bus, which takes them directly to their resort, with Disney staff handling all luggage transportation. At the end of their stay, the bus will take them back to the airport. During their stay, guests can use Disney's bus, monorail and boat systems to get back and forth to the parks, resorts and other destinations.
