Consultation

• It is recommended that you first consult with your doctor before you stop taking Strattera. ADHD is a disorder which needs monitoring, even when symptoms appear to be lessening.
  
  

Stopping Treatment

• Once you've been evaluated by your doctor, he may suggest that you simply stop taking the medication. Strattera does not require a tapering off period, as it is not a stimulant. There are no known negative symptoms that occur by simply stopping the medication.
  
  

Reappearing Symptoms

• Once you've stopped your treatment of Strattera, ADHD symptoms may appear after a period of one to three days. Your doctor may suggest an alternative medication to Strattera to treat the recurring symptoms of ADHD.
  
  

Complications

• Certain diseases may cause a complication to occur while taking Strattera. Please inform your doctor if you are suffering a congenital heart defect, heart disease, heart attack, coronary disease or have a history of blood clot or have suffered a stroke. Be sure your doctor knows your full medical history before stopping treatment of Strattera.
  
  

Warning

• The Food and Drug Administration recommends that you do not take a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI) for a period of two weeks after discontinuing your treatment of Strattera. It is important that you not use Strattera if you are allergic to the drug atomoxetine or if you are suffering from glaucoma. Strattera use may impair your thinking or cloud your judgment, so be careful when operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle.
