How Can I Start This Journal?

Here are the steps in creating a dream journal. However before doing so, you should ensure that you're a good reader even if the handwriting is at its messiest point. This is just a preparation in case you won't be able to write well because of feeling so sleepy which is typical for beginners.

Step 1 - Look for a notebook that is intended for your dream noting and nothing else. Place this near your bed just within your reach. Dreams may fade quickly and it's important for you to write down all the essential details of every dream you had.

Once you woke up, get up, walk around and think of various things to get your brain neurons to fire up again. This will overlap the memory of your previous dream and prepares you for another one.

Step 2 - don't forget to put dates on your notes. Write a note in the present tense form for easier understanding and place an accurate date in each memo of yours. This way you'll be more tracked on your dreaming activity.

Step 3 - familiarize and recall the theme and place in your dream. Is it snowing? Are you in a garden? Or perhaps in a dry ground where nothing seems to be alive. Such matters are also important in every note because this will later on give you a clearer picture. You may also jot down how you feel about the dream.

Step 4 - draw any images that have strong impacts in your dream. It doesn't matter if you're not good at drawing, what matters here is that you get an idea of how that image looks. This goes out similarly with the grammar and punctuation as you're writing the notes. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 5 - point out any major scenarios in the dream. It may be about the part where you suffer, or where you flew in the air with other dream characters. This will allow you to connect to your dream symbols with reality-based issues. It may also be necessary to give your dream a title. Read what you have jotted down and create a significant title to it.

Conclusion

Having a dream journal is more to having the typical kind of journal you may already have. This isn't only keeping you on track with your lucid dreaming but it will also inform you of any similar lucid dreaming you may have.
