With the introduction of poker on television most people are familiar with hold'em or oval style poker tables.
The reason for this type of table is due to the number of players that need to be seated to play Texas Hold'em.
Round style tables don't usually accommodate ten players but many are designed for eight players.
They do have the advantage of making it easy for any one player to deal to any other player.
When playing at an oval style table it can be difficult for a player on one end to pass to a player on the opposite end of the table.
With a round style table it doesn't matter where you are sitting it is easy to deal to other players.
Another advantage is placement in the room.
Oftentimes, it can be easier to place a round style table in the corner of a room as opposed to a larger oval style table.
This is convenient for those who like keeping the table out, but don't want to give it a prominent spot in the room.
In addition, these types of tables are very good for friendly casual games as it makes it easy for everyone to talk and converse around the table.
Some round tables come with dining tops or covers that enable you to use the table for daily use in addition to your occasional poker game.
Two other great features are cup holders and chip racks.
Cup holders let you safely keep your drink at the table.
Chip racks can be embedded into the table itself.
This makes for a great spot to keep your chips neatly positioned yet out of the way.
