How to Observe Easter Sunday
- 1). Drape your surroundings in white and gold to symbolize purity, victory and light. Many churches also cover a cross in flowers to symbolize new life.
- 2). Attend your church's Easter vigil, which for many churches begins with a sunrise service and may comprise Bible readings and a baptism for new converts.
- 3). Celebrate the day with the Easter musical or cantata, a popular tradition among Protestant and evangelical churches, in which the Easter celebration is manifested in song.
- 4). Incorporate folk Easter traditions into your religious celebration. For instance, wearing new Easter clothes is said to symbolize a clean start; coloring and hiding Easter eggs for children can represent rebirth and resurrection (or a coming forth from the tomb).
