    • 1). Lay the journal on the inside of the leather.

    • 2). Open the journal fully and mark on the leather around the edges of all sides.

    • 3). Cut the leather adding ¼ inch extra to all sides.

    • 4). Cut a thin strip of leather measuring ¼ inch wide. The length of the strip measures 3 times the width of the journal.

    • 5). Glue or sew the long strip to the inside of the leather in the middle, center point.

    • 6). Open the journal inside of the leather and glue or sew the leather to the journal, folding the edges to the inside of the journal covers.

    • 7). Close the journal and wrap the thin strap around the journal and knot to close.
