No doubt, it would be a great comfort to reduce, if not, avoid any attack! Below are some suggestions others have found helpful in coping with this condition, please read on:

If you are experiencing a panic attack, you can try splashing your face with cold water. This will stimulate a dive sensation in your brain which will tell your body to slow down and relax. This is an easy way to help get your body to relax a bit.

An ounce of prevention is more effective than a pound of cure, and that applies to attack sufferers, too. The anxiety that leads up to a panic attack can be just as or more uncomfortable as the attack itself, so don't allow yourself to travel down that path at all!

Find something you really love to do and then, engage in it when you're having an attack. Choose something that is meditative, like gentle yoga or knitting, so that you'll get lost in it and forget what is happening to your body. Make sure you're able to do this whenever an attack hits.

Consider joining a support group if you suffer from the attacks. This will help you to confront your fears. For example, if you have problems while driving they'll join you in the car and put you into the situations you fear most so you can get over them. This is a great way to convince your mind that things aren't as bad as it makes them out to be!

Concentrate on your navel during an attack. Sit or lie down and think about your navel, the center of your body. Your navel feels no tension nor pain and it is your connection to the people you love. Imagine a silver cord going from it to the person you love more than anyone else and then draw their strength through the cord into your body.

If you have panic attack on a regular basis you should think about increasing the amount of exercise that you get. This can help you to limit the number of panic attacks you have because exercising will actually cut back on how stressed you feel. Stress is often what causes a panic attack.
