Most dads appreciate homemade gifts that combine your imagination and talent. A gift made by you is always treasured and saved throughout the years. Create a gift that reflects your favorite dad's personal style or complements his hobbies and brings you to mind whenever he uses it. Whether your gift is simple or elaborate, include a handmade card detailing your love for him. - Dad recognizes your talents, so use them for his gift. Paint your dad a scene of his favorite vacation spot or one that showcases his business. Blow up a photograph of a tranquil setting, such as a lake, the ocean or the mountains, and frame it. Or, give your dad a picture of yourself, the entire family or a silhouette of the two of you framed for his desk. Create a sand candle, one surrounded by shells or in multicolors. Make a song for dad and record it or write him a heartfelt poem. Knit him a scarf and a pair of warm mittens or small blanket.
- Wake up Dad with a breakfast tray complete with cut flowers in a vase. Or, make him a gift basket filled with chocolate-covered bananas, strawberries and pretzels. Dip apples into melted milk chocolate and drip melted vanilla or dark chocolate over the apples and sprinkle with nuts or crushed candy. Consider baking cookies or brownies and putting them into a decorative tin as a gift. Fill several tall jars with peanuts, cashews, jelly beans or chocolate kisses and tie a bow around each. Surprise Dad with a picnic lunch for just the two of you with his favorite sandwich and all the fixings including chips, side salads and sparkling cider or bottled water.
- Frame a puzzle for Dad to display on his wall or blow up a favorite photograph and make your own puzzle for him to put together. Gather several online crosswords into a small "book" collection for your dad to complete while on his morning train commute or download his favorite tunes onto his MP3 player or burn him a CD. Make your dad his own stationery or memo pads or design a website for his business. Turn your dad's favorite photographs into a screen-saver slide show on his personal computer so he can reminisce as they flash across the screen.
