The presence of changes in the people's life is the natural effect. Changes can cause positive and negative results. A changing result in the novella "Looking for Alibtandi" is the Josie's perspective of John Barton. In the start of John's and Josie's relationships Josie considered John the greatest love of her life and the only one thing for the happiness in her life was the relations with him and his good attitude to her. John had undoubtedly the higher social status then she: he was the captain of the St Anthony's school team, his father was a member of parliament, and he was very handsome and attractive. And Josie wanted to live careless life without problems and worries, to get only pleasures and presents from life, to leave all the cares in her past and to forget previous life forever. But there were a lot of unpleasant and unexpected events in John's life. After this chain of events John and Josie had a complicated conversation.

They were both not prepared for this talk, but this conversation changed their future life once and forever. They were talking the whole night and were full of contradictory thought after the conversation. The two of them were discussing the perspectives and the plans for the future life, the attitudes and life values, the plans connected with their relationships. He told her about his disappointment concerning his life, about his problems. She understood that she had known another person, and that John has in fact other features and values. That night was really a critical and crucial moment of their relationships. John became more disappointment and depressive and Josie changed her requirements to the life. This event was a good experience for Josie, she changed a lot. But in John's case the changes were negative, because he only intensifies the disappointment and the depression.
