• The CXU is a style of heavy duty highway truck made by Mack. It is optimized to be as lightweight as possible while still being able to pull a hefty pay load. Cab options include flat-top sleepers, mid-rise sleepers and the deluxe high-rise sleeper. Pinnacle CXU Sleeper Axle Forward Specifications

• The Mach Pinnacle Axle Forward 6X4 is designated as model CXU603. Under its hood is a Mack MP8-425E. This heavy duty motor is rated at 425 HP at 1,800 rpm. It has a maximum torque of 1,560 pounds per feet at 1,200 rpm. The alternator is a 12V 100A Delco (24SI). It takes three batteries, Mack 12V M/F Group--650 CCA. The engine brake is a Mack Powerleash with engine hoses and tubing made of silicone. The 10-speed transmission is a Fuller FRO-15210B with a ratio of 11.06 low to 0.75 high. The conventional cab has features including an air conditioner with integral heater, an ash try, cab mounting, a coat hook, cup holders on both the drivers and riders side and an air horn. Pinnacle CXU Sleeper Axle Back Specifications

• Another model of the CXU released by Mack is the Pinnacle Axle Back 6X4. Its engine is the Mack MP8-415C that has a peak horsepower of 415 at approximately 1600 rpm. Its max torque is 1660 pounds per feet at 1200 rpm. Other engine features are a Mack Powerleash engine brake, silicone engine hoses and tubing and an 11-inch single-element, dry-type air cleaner. The clutch is a Eaton/Fuller CL 7982 and the transmission is a Fuller FRO-16210B. The CA68 conventional cab features an air conditioner with integral heater, an air restriction monitor, cup holders, two coat hooks, galvanized steel doors, an integrated voltmeter in the dashboard and safety tinted windows. High Torque MAXICRUISE Diesel Engine

• An alternate engine for the CXU truck style is the MAXICRUISE diesel engine, the MP8 485C. This heavy duty diesel engine has a maximum horsepower of 485. It has a variable geometry turbocharger with a Mack Powerleash engine brake. The maximum torque is 1,600 at 1200 rpm. A turbocharger come standard and features sliding nozzle ring variable geometry with water cooled actuator and bearings and electronic controls. Optional features include a high capacity air compressor, a high capacity alternator and 120 and 240 volt engine block heaters.
