How to Remove Mold From Leather & Wood
- 1). Dilute a cup of isopropyl with a cup of water.
- 2). Dip a clean cloth into the solution and wring it out well.
- 3). Wipe the cloth over the mold to remove it. Be sure to do this outside to keep mold spores from getting loose in your home. If you can't do this outside, place newspapers down around the object to catch the mold, and dispose of it immediately.
- 4). Mix antifungal soap into clean water to make it extremely sudsy.
- 5). Dip a clean cloth into the suds and use it to wipe away any remaining stain.
- 6). Place a fan near the leather to help it to dry quickly.
- 7). Polish the leather with a leather polish to help bring back the shine.
- 1). Brush away the mold with a clean cloth or nylon brush. This is best done outside, but if it has to be done indoors, place newspapers or a tarp on the floor to catch falling mold. Dispose of the papers or tarp immediately.
- 2). Mix 1 part chlorine bleach with 10 parts water.
- 3). Dip a clean cloth into the solution and wring it out well.
- 4). Scrub the area with the cloth to remove any lingering mold or stain.
- 5). Set the object outside to dry in the sunshine or set a fan nearby to help circulate air around it to help it dry quickly.
