In the Kitchen

• Tape off the cork with painter's tape, and paint the frame with a color that complements your kitchen decor. Find large stainless-look push pins at an office supply or a craft store and insert them in a set or random pattern on the cork board. Hang cooking and/or serving utensils from the push pins.
  
  Screw cup hooks into the bottom of the frame (find stainless or silver hooks to match the push pins) and hang dish towels and pot holders from them.
  
  

In the Bedroom

• Cut a piece of fabric that complements your bedroom decor in the dimensions of the cork on a cork board. Before adhering the fabric to the cork board, paint the frame in a color that matches the fabric.
  Use spray adhesive to cover the cork with the piece of fabric.
  
  Use coordinating colors of push pins to hang necklaces, bracelets and earrings. This also works well for scarves and belts. Mount this decorative cork board on the inside of your closet door for easy access to your accessories.
  
  

In Your Child's Room

• Make a fun and creative chore chart with a cork board to hang in your child's bedroom. Only use this idea for children who are old enough that the push pins aren't a safety issue.
  
  Paint the entire cork board and frame in coordinating or contrasting colors. Mark off lines on the cork board for describing chores, and a series of boxes after each chore described to coincide with each day of the week. Paint over the lines and boxes in craft paint.
  
  Add a description of each chore you expect your child to do. Mark each day of the week over the coinciding boxes. Paint over all of these words in craft paint.
  
  Buy large push pins that coordinate with the paint colors you've chosen. As each chore is completed, a pushpin gets moved on each specific chore line to the day of the week it was completed.
