Candle Holders

• Mason jars that are filled about 1/3 of the way with sand, candy, rock salt, sugar, coffee beans, pasta, or lavender petals can be used as votive candle holders to add sparkle to the wedding or reception venue. Tie a ribbon at the top of the jar to make it coordinate with your wedding colors. The jars can be used on tables, at the bar, or at the buffet. Or, twist a wire handle around the top of the jar and use it to hang votives from tree branches for an outdoor event.
  
  

Vases

• Mason jars make excellent vases for a country-themed or casual summer wedding. Use a grouping of different sizes of jars to create a dramatic arrangement, or a single jar in the center of guest tables. Mason jars are easy to embellish with ribbon or lengths of tulle, or let their homey simplicity shine on its own.
  
  

Bar Ware

• Nothing says summer refreshment like lemonade served in a pint canning jar. Using Mason jars to serve ice tea or lemonade (hard or soft) at your summer wedding adds a touch of simple country charm to the event. Two qt. and larger jars can be used to hold premixed cocktails, and smaller jars can serve as organizers for swizzle sticks and straws, limes, olives and cherries.
  
  

Favors

• Half-pt. jars filled with candy-covered almonds can pull double duty as table decor and favors for your guests. They could also serve triple duty if you fill the jar with candy, apply a label with a guest's name, and use the jars instead of place cards to guide guests to their seats. Pint jars can hold small cookies or a selection of fine truffles. If your wedding has a garden theme, small jars filled with a dried herb mix, like herbs de Provence, combine function and beauty.
