How To Create Your Own Little Garden Paradise
Create your own little garden paradise, away from the problems of the world, right in your backyard, and live healthy.
If you have your little heaven that you call home, like your backyard or even frontyard, with a little planning you are a step closer to a healthier, more self sufficient living, by growing your own fruits and vegetables! What a potential that we many times neglect or overlook.
It might be a grassy lawn that you took care of for years, just to please the eye.
But what about doing it to produce some fruits and vegetable to put on the table.
With a little careful and thoughtful planning, you can create your own paradise, in no time.
Take a look at your sunny spot, and make a simple plan on a sheet of paper, and just mark the spot to grow your vegetables.
Make a list of what would you like to grow.
This could be endless, but you can limit it to what would you like best.
Let's see if we can make a list with what you enjoy the most, like, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, snap beans, peas, kohlrabi, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cantaloupes, etc.
We could go on and on.
These are just a few examples, but just use your imagination, and you'll find out how easy it is.
It all depends on how much space you have, how committed and passionate you are about gardening, and how much time you want to spend and dedicate to your gardening activity.
And remember, this is one of the best exercises you can get, that is good for your health.
Look at where is the sun coming up, and where is it going down.
This is pretty important, so you know how to plan your layout of your little paradise.
What are your preferred fruits? Think about it, and plan accordingly.
How about some apple, peach, plum, cherry, apricot, and other fruit trees that you would like to have and pick them off the trees with your own hand? It can't be any fresher than that.
You can plant the fruit trees around the perimeter of your property, in an orchard if you have the space, or strategicaly in different places of your landscape.
Or use them as focal point, or to kind of frame certain sections of your garden.
All these fresh fruits and vegetables have tremendous health benefits! And what kind of garden would that be, without some berry fruits as well? How about some blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and more.
Rich in vitamins and minerals and antioxidants, very beneficial for your well being.
And how about some Herbs? Parsley, dill, lemon balm, peppermint, spearmint, oregano, cilantro, catnip, basil, rosemary, coriander, chives, lavender, sage, arugula, etc.
They are pretty easy to grow, too.
Once you have the layout of your garden, start preparing the most important element of a garden project: the soil.
If it seams rather poor in nutrients, start by adding some amendments to it, like composted material that can be, cow manure, rotten leaves, grass clippings, peat-moss, pine bark, etc.
Till the garden plot with a tiller or a spade.
By using a spade you will find out how beneficial it is for your health, free exercise without paying any dues to a fitness club.
It is good for your body, your mind and your soul.
If you are kind of late for planting in this season, prepare the garden anyway! Rake the leaves and spread them on top of the soil and till them in the ground, so they have time to decompose during the winter time, and by the time you start planting in the spring, the soil is going to be full of fine nutrients.
In the meantime, buy the seeds from your preferred garden catalog, and start the plants indoors, for an early start.
Once the danger of a late freezing is past, set the little seedlings in the garden, according to your plan.
Water when there is not raining, to help the plants grow some nice juicy vegetables, that you will enjoy.
Just think of the tremendous amounts of cash you can save, by not having to spend them on some tasteless fruits and vegetables that you purchase in the super-markets.
And you sure know what you are eating! As you can see, it is not that hard or complicated to create your own little garden paradise and live healthy and well.
Have fun, and check back soon for more useful tips.
