How to Apply Makeup on Dark Skinned Girls
- 1). Wash your skin with a facial cleanser and water and then with astringent on a cotton ball to remove any residual oils.
- 2). Apply a small amount of moisturizer with your fingers. Allow it to soak in for a few minutes; then wipe off the excess with a tissue.
- 3). Apply a sheer coat of foundation with a makeup brush or sponge. The foundation should match your skin tone, or be slightly lighter if you cannot get a perfect match.
- 4). Dust your face with translucent makeup powder and a powder brush to set the makeup.
- 5). Use a shadow brush to apply powdered eyeshadow to your eyelid and the crease that is formed when your eye is open. You should use a darker shade in the crease, and a lighter one on the lid itself. Dark blues, purples and golds work well on darker skin tones.
- 6). Apply a light coat of black eyeliner to your upper eyelid with a fine-tipped brush, beginning at the center and drawing the product out to the corners.
- 7). Apply black mascara to your lashes using the wand that is included in the mascara tube. Begin with the lower lashes; then do the upper ones. Allow the product to dry before touching it to prevent smudging.
- 8). Apply a light powdered or cream blush color to the apples of your cheeks and blend into your skin with your fingers. Rose and coral colors work well on darker skin, while peach, pink and brown shades should be avoided. For a night look, try bronze, plum and wine shades.
- 9). Apply medium to dark lipstick onto your lips with a lipstick brush, being careful not to paint past the natural lips. Blot your lips on a tissue; then apply a second coat of lipstick and blot again.
