Shippensburg University Scholarships
- Shippensburg University offers dozens of named or endowed scholarships for incoming freshmen, many of them based on financial need, academic interest or a student's home area.
The Dr. Angelo and Mrs. Dolores Costanzo Gifted Minority Student Scholarship Fund is awarded to a minority student with a minimum 1050 SAT score. The Dickinson Scholarship Fund awards students with a minimum 950 SAT and demonstrating financial need residing in Pennsylvania's Blair, Bedford or Huntingdon counties. The O. Richard Forsythe English Education Scholarship is awarded to students planning a career in education. - Shippensburg University also offers various scholarships for upper-class students, with some awards for graduate scholars.
Anthony F. and Valerie Ceddia Leadership Endowment goes to a junior or senior demonstrating leadership skills during her college career. Business education majors with high academic achievement may apply for the Dr. Max G. Cooley Scholarship Fund, and the Class of 1933 Scholarship helps an education major in financial need. Graduate students in education may be eligible for awards from the The Catharine H. Ellenberger Scholarship Fund. - Harold and Helen Crouse Scholarships include the business scholarship award for an undergraduate enrolled in the John L. Grove College of Business with a minimum 60 study hours completed. Applicants must have a minimum overall 2.5 grade point average with a 3.0 grade point average in the business-related major.
The Harold and Helen Crouse English Composition Scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating financial need. The student must also show his writing skills have improved since taking freshman composition through an essay selected by a composition scholarship committee.
The Crouse Memorial Geo-environmental Scholarship goes to an undergraduate pursuing a degree in geo-environmental studies. Applicants must be juniors with a 3.2 minimum grade point average, and the scholarship can be renewed the following year if the recipient's status remains the same. Preference is given to Shippensburg-area school district graduates. - These athletic grants, the amount of which vary according to the sport, go to top athletes recommended by their coaches. Eligible sports for both male and female athletes include basketball, soccer, cross country, track and field, and swimming. Female-only sports include field hockey, tennis, lacrosse, softball and volleyball, while male-only sports include baseball, football and wrestling.
