How to Use Ramset Guns
- 1). Remove all flammable liquids from your work area.
- 2). Apply protection to your ears and eyes.
- 3). Test the ability of the drive pin to penetrate the material you want to secure using the Ramset gun. Position the drive pin vertically so the tip of the pin is against the material. Hit the opposite end with a hammer to make sure the material can accept the drive pin.
- 4). Check the Ramset gun to see if all the parts are functioning properly. The Ramset user's manual provided with the gun at the time of purchase will describe your specific model's operating requirements. Feed a powder load ring or strip into the Ramset gun after inspection.
- 5). Insert a drive pin in the gun. Aim the gun toward the ground at all times to ensure a misfire will not cause serious injury.
- 6). Press the Ramset gun against the desired material and pull the trigger. This will fire the drive pin into the material.
