Hatchling Stage

• 1). Click the dragon egg on the Armor Games "How to Raise a Dragon" webpage.
  
  
• 2). Press the arrow keys repeatedly until the dragon hatches and then press the "Right Arrow" key to make it explore the forest. A page from Magus' journal will appear after it takes a few steps.
  
  
• 3). Read the page. When finished, press the "Down Arrow" key and the "Z" key -- as hinted by the flashing "Z" at the bottom right corner of the screen -- to close the journal.
  
  
• 4). Feed your dragon as you continue moving it right by pressing "X" when food is directly in front it. Press the "Right Arrow" key and "Z" key to make it jump up on rocks or branches or "Down Arrow" and "Z" to drop it into tunnels. The game provides three food options -- sparkling green plants, blue waterlike animals and red firelike caterpillars.
  
  

Adolescence

• 1). Press the arrow keys repeatedly, as you did with the egg, to break your dragon out of a cage after a wizard captures it.
  
  
• 2). Explore the wizard's castle and make your dragon eat certain objects to acquire magical breath. The dragon can exhale one of three types of magical breath depending on what you feed it. The breath may regrow plants, heal the sick and resurrect the dead, or destroy everything around it.
  
  
• 3). Push "C" when prompted in certain areas to make the dragon use its magical breath to help it escape the castle.
  
  

Adulthood Stage

• 1). Move your dragon right through the forest and press "C" to use its magical breath on the surroundings.
  
  
• 2). Press the "Right Arrow" key and "Z" key repeatedly to have your dragon jump, fly or glide past people. Press "C" to make it blow its magical breath onto people and buildings to overgrow plants or heal or destroy everything.
  
  
• 3). Stop the dragon when it reaches an area with an empty outline drawing of a house -- in the village or right on a hill. The house will turn green and you will move to the next stage.
  
  

The Hero Stage

• 1). Move the Hero using the same keys used to move your dragon.
  
  
• 2). Press "X" to make the Hero collect one of the three items that he finds -- a bow with arrows, a bag of money or a flower. When finished, proceed right until the Hero reaches your dragon.
  
  
• 3). Press "X" to place the item in front of your dragon. Your dragon will accept or refuse the offering or try to kill the Hero. If it refuses, make the Hero collect and offer a different item. If the Hero has the bow/arrows, press "X" as you move the Hero near the dragon to shoot the arrows and then quickly move him away from your dragon's teeth and breath.
