The authors suspect that the future holds increased medical management of OSSN. Many physicians may find this to be the best option for the patient, especially in recurrent or extensive disease. URHOCT, although still at its early stages, offers the attractive potential of aiding diagnosis, delineating the extent of the tumor and diagnosing recurrence in cases of OSSN. As this technology becomes more widely available, it will likely become an integral part of managing these tumors.
