How to Chill a Mug
- 1). Wash your mug with hot water and dish soap or run it through the dishwasher before chilling. Dry the mug and allow it to cool down if it was in the dishwasher.
- 2). Set the mug in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to give it a frosty appearance. If you are limited on space in your freezer, set the mug in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
- 3). Fill your mug with ice and soda water for a couple of minutes if no freezer or refrigerator is available. Carbonation aids in the chilling of the mug. If no soda water is available, use plain tap water instead. Dump the water and ice out after a couple of minutes and pour your beer into the mug.
- 4). Set glasses upside down on a mountain of ice or in an ice chest. Push down on the mug gently so the ice will surround the mug, inside and out.
