It sounds leisurely doesn't it, just shrink your calories by 500 a day or so and you will lose weight.So called professionals give this advice all the time, but does it genuinely work?
Its not as leisurely as this.

Doctors and diet experts say that if you cut your calories by 500 per day, you may lose up to 50lbs in 3 years. Three years is far to long a time to achieve your goal weight and most people will consider this as far too long.
The body reacts to the amount of food or calories going in, so if the reduction of calories is increased further, the body will slow down even more.

If the quantity of food consumed is reduced, the body will in the beginning shrink its metabolic rate to counterbalance, so reducing the possibilities of losing weight even further.
The bodies response to a sudden diet plan varies from person to person, every someone is different, but this is the reason why it is so distressing for many people to lose weight.

The human body has its own agenda or rules when it comes to adjusting to the calories consumed. Overall the body does not like change. Whatever eating routine has been used, the body will have adapted to this.

When someone starts a new diet and the type or quantity of food consumed unexpectedly changes, the body reacts by going into a kind of holding or starvation mode.

So how about exercise as an additional aid.

Unfortunately as you exercise more, your hunger increases at the same time so you are not a lot better off.

Exercise is not the best first line of attack in losing weight, but is excellent as part of a larger campaign.

Exercise must be undertaken very thoughtfully and slowly if it follows a long period of inaction.

It is also a beneficial idea to have a talk with your doctor before starting any new exercise program.

If dieting and exercise will not work, what is the answer?

Start with the diet. The actual diet, which means the type of food eaten is as important as the way in which it is reduced. Poor diets high in salt, fat and sugar should be stopped or reduced as much as is possible. Be careful with carbohydrates as too much of these types of food will still put weight on if too much is eaten. This is because excess carbohydrate is converted into fat by the body and stored.

The solution to this is a diet consisting of fresh vegetables and fruit, preferably organic as the nutrient level is higher, lean meat, but not too much red meat, keeping the input of dairy produce prudently low (although eggs are excellent) and drinking enough of good quality water every day.

An eating regime based around this idea is an terrific first step to losing weight but additional help is also needed.

The following line of onslaught in getting weight loss under way is making sure the body's metabolism does not slow down when the calories eaten are decreased. Exercise where possible is a good help, but this might not benefit everybody.

A possible solution especially for those who cannot exercise is to use a supplement that will supercharge the bodys metabolic rate. A long as the supplement is used with a good eating plan and exercise where appropriate, this will do weight loss simple and sensibly fast.
