How to Find a Church
With so many churches to choose from, how does a person find a church that fits their needs and one that they will enjoy? People looking for a church can now easily find one that meets their specific needs using webtools such as: ChurchAdvise.com, YP.com, Findachurch.com. Each site has it's own capabilities. I'll walk through the process using ChurchAdvise since it allows users to find churches that offer specific programs for individuals, programs for families, programs for different needs (ex: addiction, grief, finance, funerals, weddings), churches with specific service times, churches of a certain size, and churches with different languages spoken.
With all the different attributes of a church searchable on one site, you can save hours and hours of searching for a church with old methods like visiting each website, looking through the yellow pages and calling the church, or visiting each church individually.

With all the different attributes of a church searchable on one site, you can save hours and hours of searching for a church with old methods like visiting each website, looking through the yellow pages and calling the church, or visiting each church individually.
The following are the basic steps to find a church:

- Your current location will default based on your approximate physical location. Change the location if necessary.
- Choose a denomination, program, or a need ministry if any are applicable (will be able to choose multiple on the following page). Click "Find My Church" button.
- Church results will be displayed. You can filter down the results further by selecting one or more options on the left side of the screen* (Denomination, Ministries, Care/Needs Ministries, Service Times, Size, Languages).
- You can quickly view reviews posted by other visitors and attendees of the church by clicking the "More" button to expand the view.
- To read reviews and view additional information on a given church, click on a given church and review the information on the details page.
- After finding a church that fits your needs, visit the church at the next service time available that you can attend.
- After visiting the church, return to ChurchAdvise.com or another website to write a review on the church you just attended. Include information that would have been helpful to you before you visited the church. For example, touch on how welcoming the people were, the teaching, the worship (singing), the children's program...and even little things like how easy it was to find a parking spot or a place to sit during the worship service.
