• Adult enrichment programs is a term that can cover a huge variety of programs. The scope of these programs can range from local support group or an expressive art class for the underprivileged. Basically any program that helps adult participants learn a new skill and improve themselves and their lives could be considered an adult enrichment program.

• One type of adult enrichment program is a language learning class. English-speaking students may learn a foreign language such as Spanish, Italian or German, or, for adults who have immigrated to an English-speaking country, English courses are often offered to help them learn their new language. There are a number of classes that are offered at community colleges, cultural centers or even through church groups that are available to the public. • There are a number of adult enrichment programs that focus on art. Classes such as painting, sculpture or pottery or ceramics are often offered. • Some adult enrichment programs focus on teaching students a form of martial art. Some adult enrichment programs focus on meditation arts such as yoga and tai chi, which are primarily used for fitness, flexibility and relaxation. Other programs may teach judo, taekwondo, karate or a combination of styles that can easily be used for self defense. These programs may be run through actual martial arts studios, or they may be held in public parks, school gyms or other places that are amenable to learning a martial arts style safely and with proper padding.
