The Seven Core Army Values are a fundamental blueprint for soldiers striving to display honor and decency within the military as well as in the outside world. The U.S. Army's "Call To Duty: Boots On The Ground" slide show on the values states, "The Army Values--Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage (LDRSHIP)--are our baseline, our foundation, our core." - Training in the Army values is available online in text, video and Microsoft PowerPoint formats. Regular text treatments and video presentations of the values can be found at official Army websites. A values slide show produced with PowerPoint is located at the Deputy Chief of Staff Army G-1 website. Of course, the most vigorous form of values training can only be experienced in one place: Army basic combat training.
- An online presence makes the training in Army values more accessible for both military and civilian personnel. Values videos and slide shows are download-ready to site visitors. GoArmy.com asks, "Many people know what the words Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage mean. But how often do you see someone actually live up to them?" The online training gives more individuals the chance to study and potentially "live up to" the Army values.
