    • 1). Turn on any exhaust fans located in the room where you're dealing with strong wood stain smells. If the room doesn't have an exhaust fan, open the windows. If you have any window fans or air purifiers, turn these on as well.

    • 2). Fill several containers with baking soda. Place the containers around the room. If you're dealing with stained furniture, place the container on or inside of the furniture.

    • 3). Wait 8 to 12 hours, then turn off any fans or purifiers and close the windows. Wait another 24 hours.

    • 4). Check the room. If the strong wood stain smells persist, repeat this process or pour distilled white vinegar or powdered charcoal into containers and place the containers in the room overnight. Check the room again in the morning and repeat the entire process as many times as needed until you can no longer smell the stain.
