Nowhere to Run

• Skipping out on bail and failing to show for a court date will mean you forfeit any deposited money or property. and a bench warrant will be issued. In felony cases, bench warrants enter into the National Crime Information Center data base and are enforced across state.
  
  

Location and Custody

• In bench warrants with no option for bail, the defendant is placed into custody at the county where the original indictment was filed. However, an option for release allows a defendant to make bail in the arresting county, until the indictment is answered.
  
  

Raising Bail

• In cases in which the defendant is wanted for felony indictments, the pending court may order the defendant to be placed in custody or until an increased bail amount can be posted. The amount can be raised or decreased by the court seeking the defendant anytime, even if bail has already been posted or filed.
