There are so many different ways to get involved in yoga.
Some of them are harder than others, but they all agree in one thing: They are great ways to expand what you are capable of, both physically and spiritually.
These are a few of the different types you might be exposed to as you explore the possibilities of yoga.
Yoga: Common types and styles Ananda is one style, and is preferred for people first trying out the practice of yoga.
It is renowned for its simplicity and ability to be practices by anybody anywhere.
Kundalini is the next type of yoga to learn.
It was one of the first to come west from yoga's origins.
It involves a whole lot of controlled, deep breathing exercises.
The next type of yoga is called Bikram and is usually done in heated rooms such as saunas.
These environs allow practitioners to move a lot more loosely thanks to the heat.
Astanga is the next style of yoga, this one more commonly referred to as power yoga.
It is for the practiced yoga master who is able to maintain strength and position over time.
Alignment is the key to Kripalu, a style of yoga focused on the alignment of the body and on meditative poses.
It takes a lot of concentration to do it properly.
Integral yoga is another style, this one very good for the beginner and the advanced person.
It takes very little effort to modify the basic setups and positions to suit yourself.
The craft of Anasura yoga fixtures mostly on the spiritual realm, and less on the ability of the body to pose itself over time.
It is very critical of body alignment as well.
