One of the hardest concepts for new business owners to grasp is the idea that they have the power to actually generate income.
If you come from a world that is "salaried" it may take awhile to realize that you now have the power to choose your financial income level.
Your income level is only what you think it is.
This completely changes your perception of freedom.
Most people work for someone else and work for a salary, either yearly or hourly.
For them, a steady, regular paycheck feels like security.
But we live in a world where that income can disappear almost overnight - people get fired, "let go", the company downsizes, or people retire.
If you count on a steady salary, you give your financial security to someone else.
People who are used to a salary think that working for yourself is too scary.
"There is no security in it because you never know how much money you'll make.
You can't count on the income.
" But they are dead wrong.
True, the amount is never exactly the same, but the true security comes with the knowledge that, if you are building your business correctly, you can choose a number - an amount of income - and then simply go and get it.
You can literally generate income when you want it.
If you've had a small goal, say paying off a particular credit card or buying a specific item, and you've worked your business specifically to meet that goal, you know what I'm talking about.
You have laid on more parties, done extra promotions, or had special sales.
You've chosen a number and worked to create that level of income.
If you can generate $100, you can generate $1,000.
Pick a big, bold number.
An amount per month, or an amount per year.
It doesn't matter, you get to choose it.
Then you get to generate it.
You have the power.
Once you fully grasp this concept you are free to choose any number you want.
Then back up that choice with focused decisions and bold action.
No matter how scary it gets, remember that action trumps fear every, single time.
And what could be more scary that doing nothing and being in exactly the same place you are a year from now? Now take charge of your destiny!
