You may find that if you are dealing with morning sickness it could be hard to eat anything.
Meal supplement drinks can help you quickly take in calories you and your baby need.
You will also want to gain more than other women to be sure that you and you baby have enough nutrients and padding.
There is a good chance your doctor will put you on a high calorie diet.
Be sure that you eat well, eat extra, but do not eat too many refined sugars that can catch up on you over time.
Starting Pregnancy Overweight Starting pregnancy out over weight does not always have to be a dangerous thing.
Often women who have some extra pounds find that when they give birth they are less than they were before they got pregnant.
You will be put on a lower calorie diet to encourage converting fat into baby belly.
This way you and your baby are getting enough to eat and yet you are not adding to your weight issues.
Losing weight or only gaining a small amount will also cut down any risks to high blood pressure, known as pre-eclampsia or gestational diabetes.
Eating With Gestational Diabetes When it comes to the creme de la creme of all pregnancy diets it has to be the gestational diabetes diet.
This diet is also the same as the diet for diabetics.
Gestational diabetes is a condition of pregnancy that will go away upon delivery.
Those at highest risk are those with PCOS and a family history of diabetes type 2.
You will be asked to limit your sugar intake and take your blood sugar each day.
If you cannot control it with diet alone than you may have to take medication.
It is very important to stick to your diet, as women with GD tend to deliver large babies that can get stuck.
Babies cannot handle the huge drop in sugar after birth and sometimes require sugar water to use the extra insulin in their blood stream.
If you have GD please follow your doctor's orders carefully.
