Other Side Effects

• Other side effects in 2 to 6 percent of participants included coughing, dizziness, fatigue, rash, sinus congestion and slow heart rate. Headache, flushing, nausea and weakness also may occur.
  
  

Possible Cardiovascular Effects

• Unlikely but serious cardiovascular side effects associated with Cardizem LA call for prompt medical attention. These include rapid or irregular heartbeat, chest pain and difficulty breathing.
  
  

Other Serious Effects

• Other serious side effects, although rare, may occur. These include depression, hallucinations, high blood sugar, jaundice and unexplained fever.
  
  

Allergic Reaction

• Rarely, some people experience an allergic reaction to Cardizem LA. Signs are rash or hives, itching, swelling, severe dizziness and difficulty breathing.
