London is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and all year round visitors flock to what is a city steeped in history and full of attractions for the whole family. There are many ways into the city, with many people from far off countries flying into one of the several airports in and around London. For those visiting from within the UK, one of the most popular ways of exploring the capital of England is via rail breaks to London.

Very often you can include your rail travel to London within a larger overall package that could also include things like your hotel accommodation and even some of your entertainment, such as theatre tickets for some of the best musicals showing in the city's famous West End.

If your train tickets are booked in advance, it can be really fun way of arriving at your destination. You won't need to take your car into a city that can be really difficult to navigate, especially if you are not familiar with it. Rail travel can be quick and comfortable and with many stations in central London, you are often not far from your hotel, with perhaps a quick taxi journey or ride on the underground delivering you to your accommodation.

If you are perhaps planning a weekend in London or a longer visit and hope to take in one or two of the best West End shows, it can be a really good idea to book a package the includes everything – travel, accommodation and theatre tickets. This sort of package means that many of the details of your break can be taken care of in one go and can often work out cheaper than purchasing things individually. Making the most of your weekend in London is really important and time spent hunting for tickets for certain shows can really waste some of that valuable time.

As well as all the shows you can see, a central London hotel will mean that you have easy access to the host of wonderful attractions that are found all around the city. You may wish to visit some of those world famous landmarks during the day, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. You may also want to enjoy one of the city's amazing restaurants (there is a huge selection to choose from) before your big night out, especially if you fancy eating somewhere different than your hotel.
