On a hot summer day, there's nothing quite like a refreshing dip in the pool. St. Louis has a lot of options from large-scale water parks to smaller community pools. Here's information on public swimming pools and water parks in the St. Louis area.


1. North Pointe Aquatic Center


The North Pointe Aquatic Center in Ballwin is a popular water park in St. Louis County. The facility has several pools, a lazy river, splash pad, water tower and slides. Non-resident admission is $7 a person (adults and children), but kids two and younger get in free. Resident admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children. North Pointe is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

2. Splash City


Splash City Family Water Park in Collinsville has pools, slides, a wave rider for surfing and much more. General admission tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for children. Everyone gets a $5 discount after 4 p.m. It's open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (until 9 p.m. on Tuesdays).

3. Maryland Heights Aquaport


Aquaport in Maryland Heights is a great summer destination for families. There are pools, slides and a lazy river, plus plenty of space for soaking up the sun. Non-resident admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages four to 15. Resident admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children. Kids three and younger get in free. Aquaport is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

4. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor


Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is a 12-acre water park feauring a 560,000-gallon wave pool, raft adventure ride and children's play area. Hurricane Harbor admission is included with your ticket to Six Flags. General admission to Six Flags is $59.99 for adults and $44.99 for children. Hurricane Harbor is open most days from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

5. Raging Rivers


Raging Rivers in Grafton draws crowds from across the area. The water park sits on the banks of the Mississippi River along the Great River Road. It's a full scale attraction with a beach, treehouse harbor, endless river, slides, raft rides and more. Admission is $24.95 for adults and $20.95 for children or save $5 by going after 3 p.m. Raging Rivers opens daily at 10:30 a.m.

6. Kennedy Pool


The St. Louis County Parks and Recreation Department operates Kennedy Pool on Wells Road in South St. Louis County. There's a 50 meter swimming pool and a separate toddler pool. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. Kids four and younger are free. Kennedy Pool is open from noon to 6 p.m.

7. St. Vincent Water Park


St. Vincent Water Park is located on St. Charles Rock Road and is operated by the St. Louis County Parks and Rec Department. The water park has a children's play area and two water slides. 8. McNair Park Pool


The pool at McNair Park in St. Charles isn't as big as some of the others around St. Louis but it's a nice, family friendly place to spend the day. There's a water slide, a large children's water play area, a lily pad walk and lap swimming. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children. The pool is open daily from noon to 6 p.m.

9. White Birch Bay Aquatic Center


The White Birch Bay Aquatic Center is the place to be on a hot summer day in Hazelwood. The popular water park features a bubble slide, a 600-foot lazy river, a little tot wave pool with spray features and more. Admission for non-residents is $12 for adults and $10 for children. Resident admission is $6 for adults and $5 for children. Kids three and younger are free. The center is open from noon to 7 p.m.
