    Stockholm

    • Although expensive, Stockholm is a must-see city.Stockholm Hafen image by marvellousworld from Fotolia.com

Stockholm is an absolute must-see city not only for Sweden but for the world. Stockholm (and Sweden in general) is very expensive for travelers. The Old Town or Gamla Stan boasts flexuous cobblestone streets and beautiful shops. The restaurants are magnificent, and you will be in herring heaven (if you like herring, that is). Check out the Wasa Museum while in Stockholm. According to There Are Places.com, it houses the 17th-century frigate (geared for fighting) that sank on her maiden voyage. Fifty years ago, it was raised, and it is perfectly intact.

    Swedish Lapland

    • The Swedish Lapland is considered the last wilderness in Europe.on top of ski jumping .... image by .shock from Fotolia.com

Many consider the Swedish Lapland, located in the northernmost part of Sweden, the last wilderness in Europe. This destination of the midnight sun and the northern lights (depending on season) will take your breath away. Be prepared to see some of the most crystal clean waters, experience breathing the freshest air you've ever breathed, and hear nothing--absolute silence--as you gaze out at some of the most stunning landscape vistas on Earth. Stay at the IceHotel for the full experience (an actual hotel made of ice and snow). The IceHotel changes from frozen solid to a free-flowing river--and back--during the course of a year. Choose from either cold or warm accommodations. Prices start at 1350 kronor (approximately $186 USD) per person per night for a cold room. Warm rooms start at 1700 kronor (approximately $235 USD) per person per night.
