How to Connect With Lost Friends

    • 1). Look for friends on social networking sites. Sites like "Facebook," "Twitter," "Myspace" and "Friendster" offer a means for people to stay connected easily, regardless of the distance between them. With millions of users already connected, and many more joining all the time, it is entirely likely that your lost friend is already on one of them.

    • 2). Use a web browser search engine to find your friend. Typing your friend's name into a search engine such as "Google," "Yahoo" or "Bing" will bring up a myriad of results from the public record.

    • 3). Use a search engine site designed for finding people. A number of sites are available to find not only contact information about someone, but also background information such as criminal and credit information. Sites such as "Pipl," "Intelius" and "People Finders" offer services to track information about nearly everyone.

    • 4). Use a private investigator to find your lost friend. If all else fails, hiring a private investigator to find your friend is a costly option. A precaution when using this method, as this may come across as unfavorable. If unable to be found by any other method, it may be because your long-lost friend has gone to great lengths to avoid being found.
