Why Trade at all? Isn't trading just gambling? You'll lose all your money! You can't compare with the City Bankers! It's too complicated! These were all things people said to me when I started to learn spread betting, but I didn't listen to them, mainly because I was a young know it all but also because I was too fascinated by it all.
Think about it.
Traders don't build anything, they don't fix anything, they don't really provide a service to anyone but yet they deal with vast amounts of money every day and many of them make a fortune out of it.
Doesn't that appeal to you too? Let me answer the critics: No it's not gambling - Gambling is random.
Which card will come out of a deck is not the same as identifying an under performing stock based on analysis and intelligence.
You'll lose all your money - Not unless your a total idiot who does not follow the simple rule that I repeat throughout this.
You can't compare with the city bankers - Well actually thanks to the internet you can.
You have access to the same price information and can enter trades side by side with the big boys.
Could you imagine a Sunday league football player getting all the resources and perks of a David Beckham? It's too complicated - Come on really? It's numbers.
That's it.
Once you realise that you can't force them to do anything and you just have to follow there really isn't much more to it.
Trading forex or spread betting is something you can do at home in your own time.
No need to get up really early, cram into a packed train and go to an office full of people you don't really get on with.
If you don't want to do it, then just don't trade one day.
No one will mind, the market won't complain.
With the advantages of leverage you don't even need to have all that much money to start with.
£100 with leverage could act like £10,000.
