Summer Holidays In Kovalam Can Be Memorable With a Pleasurable View of Coconut Trees

Earlier this state was a fishing state only whose main economy was fishing dependent, but in the late 1920s the Maharani of Travancore spotted this place and built her beach resort in this area, later her brother the Maharaja of Travancore realised that this coastal region can be tourist spot if proper infrastructure is created. Thus the small fishing dependent village caught the attention of the people and they started visiting the place thereafter.

The light house beach is the most famous tourist beaches and also most advanced with the light house situated a few steps ahead. Tourists from all over the world stay here in the Light House Beach. The Hawah beach is the first topless beach in India though topless bathing is banned in the country. There Samudra beach is not for tourists, the fishermen carry out their business from this beach.
Other attractions of the place are the wooden boat riding, surfing on the sea with the hired surf boards. To earn some extra money some fishermen added motor boats as a way of attracting the people. Jama Masjid of the Samudra beach is another place yet not to forget. Most important of all the sun set view from the beach of Kovalam may be a memorable scene one can never forget.
