The Best Youth Bible Studies
- Chapter 13 of the apostle Paul's first letter to the Corinthians is all about love--many teenagers' favorite subject. Studying the love chapter helps teens understand how love differs from infatuation. Students learn that love is about patience, kindness, tolerance and maturity, not mere physical attraction, as they compare and contrast the world's version of love with God's ideal.
- The 31st chapter of Proverbs details the traits of a virtuous woman. By studying these verses in depth, young Christian men learn what attributes they should look for in a girlfriend or wife. Young Christian women discover that the characteristics of a godly woman, such as faithfulness, generosity and trustworthiness, are characteristics of God Himself.
- Young people might be surprised to learn that more than a dozen characters in the Bible are teenagers. Studying their lives can reveal truths that are as relevant to today's youth as they were to youth in Biblical times. The stories of Joseph, who rose out of slavery; David the giant-slayer; and Josiah, king of Judah, can teach today's youth about having the courage to take a stand against evil and having the self-control to resist sexual temptation.
- Many believers who become Christians as teenagers were not raised in Christian homes. Bruce Wilkinson's "Walk Thru the Bible Seminar," adapted for small-group Bible studies, presents the Bible in digestible doses that lead students through the entire Bible in the course of one year. Modern graphics and charts make God's Word easy for teenagers to understand.
