How to Fix a Shower Diverter
- 1). Examine the faulty diverter to find out how it is attached. Continue to Step 2 if the diverter is attached to the pipe with a screw. Continue to Step 3 if it is threaded onto the pipe.
- 2). Close the drain to avoid allowing the removed screw to fall into the drain. Remove the screw with the screwdriver, then turn the spout to the left while pulling out to detach it from the water pipe.
- 3). Hold the spout with the wrench and twist counterclockwise until the spout is removed from the pipe.
- 4). Replace the faulty diverter with a new diverter in the same style as the one you removed.
