Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant and is vital in the manufacture and repair of collagen.
Collagen is a protein naturally occurring in connective tissue found in joints, ligaments and also the vitreous humour.
Most fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C, notably citrus fruits, kiwifruit and broccoli.
Another anti-oxidant, vitamin E helps to protect the eyes from degenerative issues such as eye floaters.
This can be found in fatty foods such as oils, nuts and avocados.
Vitamin D has many jobs in the body, including halting the degradation of body tissues such as the vitreous humour.
Good sources of this vitamin are liver, egg yolk and oily fish, but it can also be gained from exposure to sunlight.
Of course, it is widely known and accepted that proper nutrition is essential in improving general well being, but it is also a vital aspect in preventing eye floaters.
