How to Use Excalibur ROM on Dash
- 1). Download the file "Dash-Excalibur.zip" using the link in the Resources section below. Unzip everything to a folder on your desktop.
- 2). Connect the Dash to the computer using the USB cable it came with.
- 3). Run the file "SDA Application Unlock.exe" on your computer.
- 4). Turn off the Dash. If a memory card is inserted, remove it.
- 5). Turn on the Dash. Open ActiveSync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista/7) and wait for it to connect to the Dash. Once it's connected, click the "Browse" button and drag the files "haret.exe" and "USPL.nb" to the Windows Explorer window that opens. This will copy the files to the Dash.
- 6). Run USPL.bat on the computer. It will ask you if you removed the memory card. Press Enter. It will ask you if you ran SDA Application Unlock.exe. Press Enter. It will instruct you to copy the files "haret.exe" and "USPL.nb" to the Dash. Press Enter. The Dash's screen will go black.
- 7). Open the settings for ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center and put a checkmark in the box labeled "Disable USB Connections" and click "OK."
- 8). Flash the Excalibur ROM to the Dash using the ROM Update Utility that came with the ROM or the one from Dash-Excalibur.zip.
