    • 1). Turn off the water supply to the faucet by closing the hot and cold water valves found against the wall under the sink.

    • 2). Remove the faucet lever’s index cap by prying beneath the edge with the blade of a utility knife.

    • 3). Detach the faucet lever by removing the lever screw using a screwdriver, then lifting the lever ball straight up to remove it from the valve shaft.

    • 4). Remove the handle base cover, as well as the handle adapter, if applicable, to expose the valve cartridge retainer nut.

    • 5). Loosen and remove the valve cartridge retainer nut using an adjustable wrench.

    • 6). Lift the old valve cartridge out of the valve housing by pulling the valve stem straight up using adjustable pliers to grip the valve stem.

    • 7). Insert the replacement valve cartridge into the valve housing, making certain the cartridge inserts fully, then secure the cartridge with the retainer nut removed in Step 5. Hand-tighten the retainer nut until snug, then turn it 1/4-turn using an adjustable wrench.

    • 8). Replace the handle base cover, as well as the handle adapter onto the valve stem, if applicable.

    • 9). Reinstall the lever handle by slipping the notched hole in the lever over the valve stem, then inserting the lever screw and tightening it with a screwdriver.

      Replace the lever index cap by placing it over the lever retention screw and pressing down on the cap to snap it into place.
