Wedding is the most auspicious event in anyone's life and everybody wants theirs to be fantastic in a way that people remember forever. Indian weddings differ from western wedding in certain respects. Indian wedding is not just restricted to reception or church wedding. Wedding in India is a long process which involves Tilak, Sangeet, Haldi, Mehandi, Baraat, Marriage and eventually, Reception. Concurrently, all the events require groom and the bride to wear new outfits at every occasion. In India, boys simply wear suits or semi formals; while the ladies, aunties, and girls are numb on what to wear and what not. Different occasions have different dress styles, from semi-formals to formals.


Groom Clothes

Men prefer formals or semi-formals in approximately all occasions, however prefer kurta pajamas/dhotis for the wedding. Grooms mostly prefer traditional suit, known as sherwani. When the Indian artists exhibits the Indian culture through designs on their sherwanis, they attract the eyes so much that one gets mesmerized by its color, fabric and unique masterpiece of it.

Indian groom looks elegant by getting dressed in sherwani. A long coat with ban collars that buttons up in front; falls well below the knees, this attire look terrific on them if the groom is tall. Sikh grooms add a kalgi on their turbans which is fortunate and it adds grace and beauty of the ceremony.


Bridal Clothes

A bride always aspires to have an unforgettable bridal moment in which she looks dazzling bright. By dressing up in a traditional Indian fashion, bride wants to look extraordinarily stunning and stand out from the rest. As per the Wedding India event, brides wear anything from embroidered cultural lehenga choli to salwar kameez, combination attire of a Lehenga in a form of a long skirt, choli to a dupatta.


The most important Indian dress, the sari is an embroidered un-stitched cloth wrapped around the body with a blouse making her look elegant and attractive is worn on the main day of the marriage to the matrimonial site.


In Christian nuptials, the bride usually chooses a silk sari or a western gown while Muslims brides wear a burkha or full body veil. They also wear a salwar kameez. Attires are accompanied by makeup, a special hairstyle and matching shiny jewelry.


Be it palace weddings India, beach wedding, temple wedding or fort wedding; Indian culture is displayed in all types of bridal dresses and the grace, aura and the culture of India is clearly displayed.
