I personally hold blogs in high esteem.
I like to do SEO (search engine optimization) and the search engines just flat out love blogs.
I'm not sure there is a better combination than having a web site running a blog software sprinkled with my keywords.
It is so much easier to target business opportunity leads for my home based business.

What is it about blogging though that makes it so popular in which the number of blogs increase dramatically each year? What makes them different than any other web site? First off, if you didn't know, the word blog is a contraction of the words "web log".
Like what usually happens in the online world, it was condensed somehow and a new term was created "blog".

The difference in having a blog web site is that the software allows you to make entries whenever you want.
The traditional web site is far more difficult to constantly update with new content.
The hardest part being that you need to know html and create pages for that content.
With a blog, all you need to do is type or copy in an "entry" and then submit it.
It is that aspect that made blogging take off.
Nowadays, you have freely available software like Wordpress.
Wordpress is open source code.
It is available for free and is very easy to install.
As a matter of fact, it is expandable and getting easier to use all of the time.
New modules called plugins and widgets are constantly being created on a daily basis.
They allow any popular features a web site could have to be added almost effortlessly by just clicking with your mouse.
As I mentioned in the beginning, they are great for SEO.
A big part of SEO is constantly creating new content to drive those highly targeted business opportunity leads to your site! It sure makes it so much easier to just post an article or submit an entry than to play with pages!
