  You've got the engagement ring, now it's time for the big decisions about when and where to get married. Couples in the 21st century have a wide range of options for wedding locations--you can get married anywhere from a foreign beach to your own home. Where you choose will be influenced by the season and climate, any accessibility issues for guests, and of course your budget.
  
  

Indoors

• The traditional indoor locations are places of worship or the city registry office--also known as "city hall." However, there are many other indoor options. The rental fees for buildings such as small museums, historical homes or concert halls are often relatively modest, and these types of venues offer an indoor setting with character.
  
  

Outdoors

• Outdoor wedding locations can be anywhere from an exotic beach to your parents' back yard. Backyard weddings have gained popularity in tough economic times and offer a friendly and intimate location. However, you will have to take a lot more responsibility for logistical arrangements than if you had used an established wedding venue. Or if you want your wedding guests to include animals, you could consider getting married at your local zoo--many zoos have existing outdoor areas which can easily be used for weddings. You could get married in a cave--New Mexico's Carlsbad Caverns, for example, allow couples to tie the knot underground.
  
  

Sports Arenas

• If you and your spouse share a love of sports--or if you met at a sporting event--you might want to consider getting hitched at a sporting venue that has special meaning to you both. Several major ballparks and sports fields have facilities for weddings--New York's Citi Field, Seattle's Safeco Field and Minnesota's Target Field are some examples. Deep pockets will be necessary if you want to hold your wedding at one of these locations.
