How to Check the Oil Level in a Honda OHC Mower
- 1). Turn the engine off and let it cool down. Locate the oil filler neck near the bottom of the motor. Remove the oil dipstick from the filler neck by turning it counterclockwise with your fingers.
- 2). Wipe the oil dipstick with a rag to remove any oil. Place the dipstick in the oil filler neck, but do not screw it in.
- 3). Remove the dipstick from the oil filler neck and examine it to locate the oil level indicator. If the oil is on the dipstick up to the full mark, there is adequate oil. Install the dipstick by screwing it in clockwise with your fingers.
- 4). Add oil if the oil is below the full line on the dipstick. Honda recommends SAE10W-30 motor oil. Use a funnel and add oil a little at a time, checking the oil level frequently. Install the dipstick by screwing it in clockwise with your fingers.
