How to Draw an Open Mouth
- 1). Draw two lines, one on top of the other, with the top line curved into an arch and the lower line drawn to mirror the top line, with the curve going down. These two lines are the foundation for your mouth and will be the lips. Connect the to lines on both corners.
- 2). Thicken the upper and lower lines to form the lips. You can do this either by shading them until they are thicker or by drawing two additional lines inside the first two that run parallel to the first lines. Leave space in between the lips for the open part of the mouth.
- 3). Draw a shorter, upward curved line in the opening between the lips. The line should touch the lower lip on both sides. This is the tongue inside the open mouth.
- 4). Sketch the teeth inside your open mouth, both along the top and bottom. Draw tiny squares along the upper portion of the opening in the center and the bottom to make two even rows of teeth. You can modify the mouth by drawing a curved fang on either side or making the teeth uneven.
- 5). Color the lips red and color the inside of the mouth with a darker shade of red. Apply light shading with the lead pencil first and layer the red color pencil over the lead shading to give it contrast.
