    Assessing Goals / Creating Schedule

    • The first and most important job duty of any personal trainer is to walk their client through the goals that they want to achieve and how much time they have available to achieve them. When the client and trainer settle on a realistic goal that the client can achieve, then the trainer can put together a workable exercise schedule that the two of them can work on together.

    Help with Workouts

    • After the exercise schedule is created, the personal trainer will then attend workouts with the client to make sure that the client is performing the exercises correctly and to help them with any two-person workouts such as bench presses. It is important for the personal trainer to be with their client every day so that he can make sure his client is not wasting time by performing the exercise poorly or in the wrong form.

    Provide Motiviation

    • A personal trainer must also be able to properly motivate the client to make sure she performs the agreed upon exercise schedule. Sometimes this motivation calls for the personal trainer to provide verbal encouragement to the client. Other times, motivation comes in the form of physical reward, such as allowing the client to forgo performing a certain difficult exercise if they get to a certain goal.
