How to Run a Query on an Access Form

    • 1). Open Access 2010, click the "File" tab and select "Open." Browse the files and locate the database. Click the database and select the "Open" button.

    • 2). Locate a form in the Navigation Pane. Right-click the form and select "Design View." Locate the controls group on the ribbon. Find the gray "Button" icon and click it. The cursor will become a thin "+." This is the indicator to drag the shape of the rectangular button on the form.

    • 3). Click and drag the button on the form. The Command Button Wizard appears.

    • 4). Click "Miscellaneous" from the Category section and select "Run Query" from the Actions group. Click "Next."

    • 5). Click the query that you want to run from the form and click "Next." Select "Text" and type the name that you want to appear on the button. Click "Next." Click "Finish."

    • 6). Click "View" on the ribbon and select "Form View." Click the newly created button and review the query results that appear.
