How to Paint in Two Panels
- 1). Consider what your image will be, and plan it carefully. Decide how you will hang the paintings to show your image.
- 2). Lay the panels on a large table or on the floor, and arrange them as if they were hung.
- 3). Use a water-soluble pencil to sketch your image on the panels. Each line should continue on the second panel where it left the first. This is the most-important step, since you will be painting the panels separately.
- 4). Paint the first panel. Carefully note any custom mixed colors, or mix enough for both panels and save them in an airtight container.
- 5). Check the second panel against the first, to ensure the lines still match and the image is not distorted. Re-sketch the image on the second panel if necessary.
- 6). Paint the second panel. Be aware of the need to exactly match paint colors, and to use similar techniques on areas which carry over from one panel to the other.
