    • 1). Measure your vacuum cleaner's handle. On your workspace, place the oatmeal box on its side. Draw a circle the size of the vacuum's handle on one side, another on the opposite side. Use the utility knife to cut out the circles.

    • 2). Measure the oatmeal box's height and circumference. Cut a rectangle of that size out of your light blue construction paper.

    • 3). Place the box on the other blue construction paper sheet. Use the bottom as a stencil to trace two circles on another sheet of light blue construction paper. Cut these circles out.

    • 4). Spread a thin film of school glue on the oatmeal box's side, making sure the glue covers the edges of the circular cutouts. Allow the glue to set for two minutes. Line up the box with the light blue rectangle. Wrap the rectangle around its side.

    • 5). Glue the rectangle and circles to the oatmeal box, so that it is completely covered. If necessary, trim the sides with the utility knife or scissors. Search for the cutouts with your fingertips. Remove the paper covering them with the utility knife.

    • 6). Cut two 2-inch circles from your purple construction paper and two 3/4-inch equal armed triangles from the black construction paper. Glue the base of each triangle under the edge of each circle, so that they look like rotary dial switches. These are the robot's eyes. Glue them to the head.

    • 7). Cut a 2-by-1-inch rectangle out of the black construction paper. Cover one side with a thin film of glue. This is the center of Rosie's mouth. Place it horizontally onto the face. Draw 3/4-inch black lines extending up and down from the rectangle's short sides. Connect these lines with a black marker, giving your robot face a chatty expression.

    • 8). Slide the robot head onto the the vacuum handle. Secure the head's top cutout to the handle with strips of masking tape.

    • 9). Cut a 2-inch wide, 11-inch long strip of white construction paper. Place the other half of your doily on the strip's center. Glue it in place. This is your servant robot's maid apron.
